48 hours of hell
This blog is aptly named because It has certainly been an adventure and we haven't even started walking yet. It's still too fresh to really write about but I'll just say we arrived at the town where our Camino starts a day later than planned. Our travels included a delayed train, canceled flight, delayed flight due to air traffic controller strike, missed train, wrong car of train and a spectacular fall by yours truly. Perhaps the universe is trying to tell me something!
Through it all the French people we encountered have been wonderful and I feel bad for ever saying anything bad about them! I have tried to communicate using the little bit of French I learned while living in Switzerland, but my French is so bad that when I asked where train track 2 is the
person thought I wanted water! 🤷♀️
Anyway, we have managed to get to our destination of St Jean pied de port and tomorrow we begin walking. It is a beautiful little town full of pilgrims about to start their journey!
I'm starting to think the 500 miles we will walk will be the easiest part of the whole trip.
